Nyger Seed is an oil-rich, energy-dense favourite of goldfinches, siskins, and redpolls — perfect for attracting colourful songbirds to your garden all winter long.
Nyger seed (sometimes called Niger or Nyjer) is a tiny, oil-rich seed that’s one of the very best foods for attracting colourful finches and other small seed-eating birds to your garden. Packed with natural oils, protein, and energy, Nyger provides essential nutrition — especially valuable during cold Irish winters, breeding season, and moulting.
Because of its small size, Nyger seed is best offered in a specialised Nyger feeder with narrow ports to prevent waste and keep the seed dry. When used correctly, it will bring large flocks of finches right up to your feeding station.
